Optum is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our team in Peoria, IL. In this outpatient primary care role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric ages. Your daily responsibilities will include office consults, annual visits, follow-up appointments, and general in-office procedures. You will be supported by dedicated medical assistants who assist with rooming patients, taking vitals, handling prescription refills, and managing follow-up care.

Required qualifications for this position include being currently enrolled in a residency or fellowship program, and having completed at least two years of residency training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med/Peds prior to the start date. Candidates must also obtain a postgraduate training license or an unrestricted state medical license, a current paid-status DEA certificate, and current ACLS and PALS certifications (where applicable) prior to starting. All candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment in our drug-free workplace.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $229,500 to $378,000, with total cash compensation including base pay and bonuses based on factors such as local labor markets, education, experience, productivity, and performance. Key responsibilities and details of the role include:

  • Delivering patient-centered outpatient primary care from pediatric to geriatric populations.
  • Conducting office consults, annual wellness visits, and necessary follow-up appointments.
  • Performing general in-office procedures as clinically indicated.
  • Working a Monday through Friday schedule, utilizing structured appointment times for thorough patient evaluations.
  • Collaborating closely with medical support staff to ensure efficient daily clinic operations and patient care delivery.
