We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team in Laurinburg, NC.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to support our manufacturing and warehousing operations. Your primary duties will include transporting inventory, staging orders, and loading outbound truck trailers with aluminum cans efficiently and accurately to ensure safe transport. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times while following all established safety rules and standard operating procedures.
- Pulling pallets from the outgoing conveyor line and placing inventory into correct warehouse locations.
- Reviewing the daily production schedule and communicating effectively with management, leads, and coworkers.
- Performing visual inspections of aluminum cans and packaging quality, and assisting QA in locating pallets for sampling.
- Managing dunnage availability, transferring HFI’d pallets to proper storage locations, and assisting with outgoing department packing issues.
- Monitoring equipment and processes, reporting problems promptly to supervisors, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area through proper housekeeping.
- Performing other related production and warehousing duties as required.
Qualified candidates should possess good oral, written, listening, and record-keeping skills, along with the ability to understand and speak basic English. Candidates must obtain Crown certification to operate powered industrial trucks. Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.
Physical requirements include the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Associates may occasionally be required to sit, climb, or balance, and must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The work environment involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels, with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and a wide range of temperatures.
