Coolways Transport Pty is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator / Dockhand to join the team at our Melbourne depot, located in the Epping and Whittlesea area. This is a full-time, afternoon shift position offering a competitive annual salary between A$83,200 and A$89,440. Working hours are Monday to Friday with a 2:00 PM start time, offering a consistent schedule in a dynamic logistics environment.
In this hands-on role, you will be based across our temperature-controlled docks operating within a 0–4°C chilled environment. Because you will be handling specialized chilled freight, previous cold-chain experience is essential. We are looking for a reliable professional who is comfortable running their own dock, capable of working efficiently and safely with minimal supervision, and dedicated to maintaining high standards of warehouse operations.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Operating a forklift safely and efficiently within a busy depot environment
- Handling, sorting, and staging temperature-controlled and chilled freight
- Managing dock operations independently during the afternoon shift
- Performing pre-operational checks on equipment and maintaining a clean, hazard-free workspace
- Accurately processing stock and ensuring timely dispatch and receival of goods
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a valid forklift licence and demonstrate solid previous experience in a similar warehousing, dockhand, or forklift operating capacity, specifically within cold-chain logistics. Strong organizational skills, the ability to work unsupervised, and a commitment to workplace health and safety are crucial for this position.
