As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for keeping our bus fleet in full repair so that our guests arrive safely, comfortably, and on time. This position involves working within our maintenance facilities as well as performing field service tasks that may require working from elevated platforms and in confined spaces across the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Performing annual DOT inspections on the bus fleet
  • Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on transit vehicles
  • Answering non-routine service calls across the property
  • Performing daily fleet inspections, fueling, and minor repairs at satellite maintenance facilities
  • Handling cleaning chemicals and supplies safely while utilizing required personal protective equipment

Basic qualifications and requirements for applicants include:

  • A valid Florida CDL Class A or B driver’s license with a passenger endorsement, or the ability to obtain a permit by the time of hire
  • The ability to obtain and maintain Medium/Heavy Truck T4 or Transit Bus H4 heavy-duty brake ASE certification within 90 days of hire
  • Possession of an EPA MVAC 609 Air Conditioning certification
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a diesel technician or mechanic, including experience performing maintenance and repairs on over-the-road coaches or semi-heavy-duty trucks
  • Ability to interpret schematics, lift up to 50 pounds, and demonstrate strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices
  • Flexibility with schedule availability, as our theme parks and resort hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

The pay rate for the Area Mechanic role in Florida is $25.76 per hour, and the pay rate for the Fleet B Mechanic role in Florida is $29.59 per hour. Select benefits, such as medical and financial programs, may be provided as part of the compensation package.
