Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Internist to serve as the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director and Staff Physician at Hackensack University Medical Center located in Hackensack, New Jersey. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician with a strong passion for medical education to lead, inspire, and shape the next generation of internists within a supportive and collaborative academic healthcare environment.
In this dual leadership and clinical role, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of the Internal Medicine Residency Program while ensuring full compliance with ACGME accreditation standards.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive curricula, departmental Grand Rounds, and CME programs.
- Supervising, mentoring, and evaluating residents and medical students, as well as directing the resident recruitment process.
- Championing patient quality and safety initiatives and actively representing the Department of Medicine on the Academic Affairs Committee.
- Providing compassionate, effective patient care, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and maintaining clear communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
Position highlights include joining a collaborative network of experienced physicians and specialists with robust clinical support, leading a respected training program, and gaining eligibility for a faculty appointment to the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from a recognized medical school.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
- Valid New Jersey Medical License, CDS, and DEA registrations.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience serving as a Program Director or Associate Program Director.
Hackensack Meridian Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The minimum base salary for this position is $278,656, provided as a good-faith estimate in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act. Final compensation is determined based on non-discriminatory factors such as specialization, relevant experience, leadership background, education, productivity, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, a comprehensive total rewards package is offered, which includes health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
