We are currently seeking a Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) to join our team in Waco, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, integration, test, and verification of a variety of new and/or modified systems for a missionized Gulfstream G550 platform. Working with minimal oversight, you will support large, complex project initiatives and communicate effectively with internal leadership, external subcontractors, and customer teams.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Developing aircraft system requirements, including Concept of Operations (ConOps), system specifications, component specifications, and system schematics.
- Performing verification and validation tasks such as creating test plans and procedures, conducting ground and flight testing, and writing certification reports.
- Supporting technical publications by reviewing and providing source data for system operating manuals, maintenance manuals, and instructions for continued airworthiness.
- Performing hands-on testing and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems, which may require climbing and crawling in confined areas.
- Interpreting technical documentation, engineering blueprints, and relevant civil and military standards.
- Supporting periodic travel for Technical Interchange Meetings, Program Reviews, testing, and aircraft field support.
To be qualified for this position, candidates must meet one of the following education and experience criteria:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience.
- A Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Additional requirements include:
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- Demonstrated experience in program planning, engineering execution, and aircraft integration, test, and delivery.
- Working knowledge of encrypted communications, flight deck missionization, Emissions Control (EMCON), and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).
- Proficiency with standard computer tools including Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to travel domestically up to 10% based on business needs.
