We are currently seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to join our team on a part-time basis, based in Barton, South Canberra. This is an excellent in-house opportunity within a global technology and engineering company committed to protecting lives and securing the future.
In this role, you will provide essential legal guidance and support across our operations, helping to deliver mission-critical services and systems to defence, national security, and essential industries. You will work closely with various teams to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support the broader business objectives in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice on a wide range of operational and strategic matters.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, agreements, and tender documentation.
- Assisting with regulatory compliance and internal governance policies.
- Identifying legal and commercial risks and offering proactive solutions to mitigate them.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel as required.
To be successful in this position, you should bring a strong background in commercial law, ideally with experience gained in-house or within relevant industry sectors. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential for success in our fast-paced environment.
