About this job
New Zealand Panels Group is one of New Zealand’s leading manufacturers, and our East Tamaki site keeps running around the clock thanks to people who take genuine ownership of their areas. We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join us on a full-time basis for our night shift.
In this role, you will own the night shift, keeping our plant and equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently while the rest of the site sleeps. If you are the type of engineer who likes being trusted to get on with the job and enjoys solving complex problems independently, this could be the ideal opportunity for you based in Auckland.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Performing scheduled and preventative maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing plant and equipment
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and related faults promptly to minimize downtime
- Responding effectively to breakdowns during the night shift to ensure operational continuity
- Collaborating with production teams to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-maintained working environment
- Adhering strictly to all site safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations
- Accurately documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage
To be successful in this position, you will bring a strong background in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment. You will be comfortable working autonomously on the night shift, demonstrating a proactive approach to asset care and equipment reliability. Your ability to think on your feet, solve technical challenges efficiently, and communicate effectively with team members will be crucial.
If you take pride in your trade and want to play a vital role in keeping a major New Zealand manufacturing operation running smoothly through the night, we invite you to apply now.
