Simplot Australia, a leading food manufacturing and agricultural company, is seeking a Maintenance Fitter (Casual) to join the team in the Forthside and Devonport area near Ulverstone. While noted as full-time in the initial listing details, this opportunity is offered on a casual basis to support our dynamic operations.
As part of the Simplot team, you will be contributing to our core operations which encompass potato, vegetable, seafood, and sauce manufacturing. We supply a wide range of trusted frozen, shelf-stable, and chilled products to major retail and foodservice customers across Australia and New Zealand.
Key responsibilities for this Maintenance Fitter role typically include:
- Performing routine preventative maintenance and servicing on plant machinery and food processing equipment.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical faults efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Collaborating with production and operations teams to support smooth, continuous plant performance.
- Accurately documenting maintenance work, repairs, and parts usage.
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess relevant trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Experience working within a manufacturing, production, or fast-paced industrial environment will be highly regarded.
