Schwan’s Company, a leader in manufacturing and marketing quality foods enjoyed nationwide, is seeking a reliable and dedicated Maintenance Technician for our 3rd shift at our manufacturing facility located in Erie, PA. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay at a starting rate of $23.00 per hour, plus an additional $1.50 shift differential from 3:30 pm to 7:00 am, along with clear opportunities for advancement.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines. Your daily duties will include:
- Troubleshooting malfunctions and locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and utilizing precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Setting up and tearing down equipment, as well as assisting with major repairs, construction, fabrication, and the installation of new plant equipment.
- Removing defective parts by dismantling components using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
- Controlling downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Using SAP to document maintenance activities and effectively communicate with operations.
- Working in a safe manner with a sense of urgency while maintaining a clean, orderly work area and strictly adhering to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Participating in and successfully completing management-assigned training to continuously increase your job-related trade skills.
To be successful in this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; a two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade is preferred, along with 0-2 years of related experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge required, with electrical skills considered a strong plus.
- Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, alongside basic computer skills to complete work orders and paperwork.
- Proficiency in fundamental mathematics, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
- Physical ability to lift up to ninety (90) pounds and meet the physical demands of a manufacturing environment.
