Maintenance Technician III – Topping/Packaging

Schwan’s Company is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician III – Topping/Packaging for our manufacturing facility located in Florence, KY. The pay range for this position is $33.50 to $37.00 per hour, plus an additional $1.50 shift differential for hours worked from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family.

As a Machining/Welding Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in keeping our production running smoothly by performing hands-on machining, welding, and fabrication tasks to support equipment maintenance and repair.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working in a safe manner with a sense of urgency while maintaining a clean and orderly work area
• Assisting with major repairs, fabrication projects, and the construction and installation of new plant equipment
• Welding and fabricating stainless steel and other materials using appropriate methods such as TIG and MIG
• Operating power tools—including metal shears, benders, grinders, punch presses, lathes, milling machines, band saws, and drill presses—and using precision measuring and testing instruments
• Reading and interpreting mechanical schematics, maintenance manuals, and safety documents
• Completing work orders and entering maintenance logs into SAP
• Supporting plant teams by sharing best practices in equipment care and participating in ongoing safety and maintenance training

Qualifications for this role:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a two-year degree in a maintenance-related trade is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, welding, or fabrication
• Strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and effective communication skills
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift up to 90 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Willingness to work overtime and weekend shifts (every other)
