Manufacturing PSM Manager

We bring families and communities together through great food, and we are currently seeking a Manufacturing PSM Manager to join our team in Omaha, NE.

In this role, you will be a vital catalyst in driving compliance and safety initiatives regarding Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP), and general system safe operations. Operating under limited supervision, you will provide compliance and technical expertise to support the PSM program for ammonia refrigeration systems. You will own initiating, leading, and successfully executing compliance activities and projects related to facility ammonia refrigeration systems, related utilities, operational training, and overall system reliability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management Standard, EPA’s Chemical Accident Prevention Provision Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulation, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Providing dotted-line support across multiple facilities and for multiple PSM staff members, while coaching and developing the talents of junior team members.
• Managing key compliance activities for the 14 Elements of PSM and RMP, including Process Safety Information, Process Hazard Analysis, Operating Procedures, Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change, and Incident Investigation.
• Conducting and coordinating internal Mechanical Integrity inspections, generating reports, and ensuring timely remediation plans to maintain safe system operations.
• Developing and managing inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance plans and equipment reliability programs for covered processes and utilities.
• Providing on-demand and on-site support for facility refrigeration operability issues, ammonia systems, center-lining, and safety improvements.
• Ensuring facilities comply with applicable codes, regulations, and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP).

Qualifications for this position:

• 7+ years of experience within a PSM setting, ideally in a manufacturing environment with ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Safety, Environmental, Safety Science, Engineering, or a related area.
• The ability to travel, typically 30-50%, to various food plants.
• Expertise in State/Federal EPA and OSHA compliance requirements and regulatory procedures.
• Strong knowledge of RAGAGEP for ammonia systems, including IIAR, NEC, ASME, and B&PVC.
• Experience implementing safety programs in manufacturing environments and utilizing hazard evaluation techniques such as HazID, What-If, HazOp, and LOPA.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, software, and reporting tools to track key performance indicators.

The base salary range for this position is $90,750 to $151,250 annually, with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. Starting pay is determined by factors including education, skills, work experience, certifications, and geography.
