Merrill Wealth Management is seeking dedicated professionals for the Merrill Advisor Development Program – Financial Advisor within the Western NY Market, including locations in Buffalo, Jamestown, Pittsford, and Williamsville. This program is designed for individuals eager to make a career transition and follow their passion of becoming a Financial Advisor, backed by the resources of Merrill and Bank of America.
As a Financial Advisor in this development program, you will work closely with high-net-worth individuals to identify needs, build relationships, review financial goals, and deliver comprehensive recommendations. You will also collaborate with and be mentored by established Merrill Financial Advisor Teams to promote portfolio growth and practice development.
Key responsibilities and daily activities for this role include:
- Developing a book of business to meet and exceed established performance hurdles and goals.
- Prioritizing prospective client sourcing, capitalizing on referrals, and executing customized solutions.
- Recommending suitable investment products and services aligned with client objectives, resources, time horizon, and risk profile.
- Handling inbound inquiries from leads regarding Merrill offerings and collecting necessary client profile data following standard KYC procedures.
- Serving as an interim Financial Advisor and accurately documenting all client interactions within Salesforce.
- Organizing resources to run a productive practice while completing mandated training, assessments, and continuing education requirements.

Required qualifications and skills for candidates include:
- Current possession of Series 7 and 66 licenses (or 63 and 65 in lieu of 66).
- At least one year of experience working in the financial services industry and/or a goal-oriented sales environment.
- At least one year of experience in the investments industry, featuring investment training and product knowledge.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to earn trust.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and goal-oriented approach with strong technical literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and the ability to adapt quickly to new technology and applications.
The annualized salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00, with final offers determined by experience, education, and skill set. This role is formulaic incentive-eligible, allowing participants to earn monthly, quarterly, and/or annual incentives based on performance metrics. Additionally, the position is benefits-eligible, providing access to paid time off, industry-leading benefits, and comprehensive employee support.
