We are currently seeking a skilled Mobile Vehicle Technician to join the RAC in our SMR Division based in Frieze Hill, Taunton. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary package of up to £52,000 per year, which includes on-target earnings built upon a strong base salary. You will work a 40-hour week with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, alongside a 1 in 4 Saturday rota, with guaranteed overtime options available to help increase your earnings further.
Welcome to SMR at the RAC. While our brand is widely recognized for roadside rescue, this role represents a completely different side of our operations. As part of our Service, Maintenance & Repair Division, you will step into a new era of mobile repair, bringing dealership-level service directly to our customers at their homes or workplaces. You will operate from a fully equipped mobile unit, diagnosing and resolving vehicle issues with professionalism and efficiency.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Performing routine servicing, maintenance, and vehicle repairs at customer locations
- Carrying out accurate diagnostic testing and mechanical inspections
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
- Maintaining accurate records of completed jobs and parts used
- Representing the RAC brand with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction
To succeed in this role, you should possess relevant mechanical qualifications (such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) along with proven hands-on experience in vehicle service, maintenance, and repair. A valid UK driving licence is essential for travelling to customer locations across the Taunton area.
