As a Level IV NICU Registered Nurse, you will provide specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill newborns and premature infants. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, specialists, and support staff to monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, and support families through challenging medical journeys.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care for critically ill neonates in a Level IV NICU setting.
- Continuously monitoring vital signs, managing complex technological equipment, and responding swiftly to acute changes in patient status.
- Administering medications, intravenous therapies, and specialized nutrition according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
- Collaborating effectively with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
- Communicating compassionately with families, providing emotional support, education, and guidance during their baby’s hospitalization.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
