Witherslack Group is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Night Support Worker for our Children’s Homes located in Whittle-Le-Woods, Chorley. This is a full-time position offering a competitive annual salary of £33,241.
Working in our children’s homes means becoming an integral part of a young person’s day-to-day life. As a Night Support Worker, you will be there for both the highest highs and the lowest lows. Your primary focus will be on providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment during the night, ensuring our young people are supported, comforted, and able to rest well so they can engage with their daily lives and education.
The role operates on a waking nights schedule utilizing a four-on, four-off shift pattern. Responsibilities typically include monitoring the safety and security of the home, providing a calming presence, responding to individual needs through the night, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the broader residential care team in promoting positive outcomes for the children and young people in our care.
Key responsibilities in this rewarding role include:
- Providing a reassuring and protective presence throughout waking night shifts
- Supporting young people with their nighttime routines and morning preparations
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming residential environment
- Recording pertinent information accurately and handing over effectively to the day team
- Building positive, professional relationships based on trust and consistency
- Upholding all safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures
