As a Nurse Extern at Mission Hospital, you will play a vital supporting role in the delivery of patient-centered care within our renal specialty unit. Working under the direct supervision of registered nurses and clinical staff, you will assist with daily clinical tasks, patient monitoring, and direct care activities while further developing your nursing knowledge and practical skills in a supportive hospital environment.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Assisting professional nursing staff with direct patient care activities and daily living support
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, intake and output, and other essential patient data
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Participating in ongoing educational opportunities and professional development activities
