We are currently seeking a dedicated full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a Primary School-Based Health setting. In this role, you will play a vital part in assessing the physical and psychosocial status of students and clients through comprehensive interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests. You will interpret data, develop and implement therapeutic plans, and ensure a continuous standard of care across the health-illness continuum.
Candidates joining our team will be expected to follow established policies and procedures while actively supporting the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of CHRISTUS Health. Your day-to-day duties will encompass a range of essential clinical and administrative functions designed to promote student wellness and health equity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing diagnosis and treatment of common acute illnesses, as well as prevention and maintenance healthcare for patients with stable chronic illnesses within prescribed guidelines.
- Delivering health education to patients and families as required to support positive health outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate records, medication lists, and thorough documentation of care and follow-up for administrative purposes and reimbursement services.
- Maintaining clinical competence, supervising clinical issues, and supporting or directing triage by clinical staff when necessary.
- Adhering strictly to the drug formulary developed by the practice.
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following license and certification requirements:
- Current certification to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the State of Louisiana.
- Board Certification as an advanced practice clinician.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required within two (2) weeks of employment.
- ACLS certification is recommended.
While open to qualified applicants, a background as a Nurse Practitioner with family medicine experience is preferred.
