Optum is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a Southeast Regional Delta Traveler in a clinician-led care organization dedicated to creating a seamless health journey for patients across the care continuum. This position is a travel role and may require up to 100% travel, with normal travel scheduled from Monday morning through Friday afternoon.

As an integral member of the broader Home and Community Care and DELTA teams, you will help develop exemplary leadership, teamwork, and accountability. Daily activities vary weekly based on company needs and include onboarding new providers, supporting interdisciplinary care team (IDT) operations, conducting in-office and field ride-alongs, mentoring new providers, and implementing standardized clinical best practices.

Primary responsibilities encompass training and team building, implementing best practices, and delivering direct patient care. You will lead on-the-job training, complete provider competency checks, serve as a peer mentor, and perform annual clinical assessments and follow-up care for patients in the comfort of their homes. Additional duties include prescribing appropriate diagnostics, participating in team meetings, and supporting quality initiatives.

Financial incentives include a $40,000 Student Loan Repayment or a $30,000 Sign-on Bonus for individuals who have not previously participated in this program, subject to specific eligibility and service term requirements.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of a Nurse Practitioner accredited program
  • Current state RN/NP license or ability to obtain by the start date
  • Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the ability to obtain national certification and/or NP license in the state of assignment
  • Current active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority, or ability to obtain post-hire per state regulations
  • A valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and compliance with the Optum Motor Vehicle Safety policy
  • Knowledge of long-term care, community resources, and cost-effective alternatives regarding patient care delivery systems

Preferred qualifications include five or more years of clinical experience, clinical training experience, and awareness of utilization management standards, NCQA requirements, CMS guidelines, Milliman guidelines, and Medicaid/Medicare contracts and benefit systems.

The annual salary for this full-time role ranges from $89,900 to $160,600, determined by factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Eligible employees also have access to a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
