Nursing Assistant

Masonicare Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team for the evening shift. This position is located on our specialized Behavioral Health and Acute Psych Unit, situated within our modern, state-of-the-art 50-bed Behavioral Health Hospital unit in Wallingford, CT. This is a 32-hour per week role working every other weekend.

In this role, you will perform basic nursing care procedures under the direct supervision and guidance of a licensed nurse. You will be responsible for following individualized treatment plans designed to meet the specific age, needs, and abilities of each patient.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting patients with daily meals and nourishments
• Safely transferring patients using proper body mechanics and appropriate assistive devices
• Assisting with ambulation, mobility, and physical exercise as outlined in the care plan
• Providing support with personal hygiene, including bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming
• Observing patients and reporting any changes in condition or behavior to the nursing staff
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for all residents and patients

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Current Connecticut certification as a Nurse’s Aide (C.N.A.)
• Current CPR certification
• A strong commitment to providing quality, patient-centered care within a behavioral health setting
