An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced professional to join NSW Health as an Occupational Therapy Team Leader / Therapy Coordinator within the Mental Health Inpatient service located in Goulburn, with service areas extending to the broader Bowral region. This is a permanent part-time opportunity classified at Occupational Therapist Level 5, offering a competitive remuneration package ranging from $141,319 to $144,756 per annum (pro-rata based on hours worked).
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality occupational therapy services within a mental health inpatient setting. You will guide and support a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centred care, assisting patients to regain independence, build functional capacity, and achieve positive mental health recovery outcomes. Your expertise will be vital in clinical governance, service development, and mentoring junior staff.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Providing clinical leadership, supervision, and professional development support to occupational therapy staff within the mental health inpatient unit.
- Assessing, planning, and implementing evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for patients with complex mental health needs.
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary medical, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and service evaluation to enhance clinical standards.
- Managing clinical caseloads and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with NSW Health standards and professional guidelines.
