Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Columbia is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacist to join our team on a part-time basis in Pineridge, Lexington County. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, directly impacting the well-being and recovery of our patients. Your daily contributions will support our multidisciplinary healthcare team and contribute directly to community health within a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Reviewing, interpreting, and dispensing physician medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Monitoring patient medication therapies for potential interactions, allergies, and adverse effects
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to optimize patient care outcomes
- Maintaining compliance with state and federal laws, regulatory standards, and hospital policies regarding pharmacy operations
- Providing drug information and education to patients, families, and hospital staff
- Ensuring proper storage, control, and accountability of pharmaceutical supplies
