As a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will perform treatments and provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving and enhancing overall well-being, all while strictly following the established plan of care.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Following all state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, adhering strictly to the treatment set defined by the supervising physical therapist, and performing only those procedures you are qualified and trained to handle.
- Instructing and aiding patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional activities, ADLs, transfers, safety measures, and prosthetic training.
- Observing, recording, and reporting the patient’s response to treatment and any changes in their condition to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and physician, while coordinating care with the broader healthcare team.
- Educating patients, family members, caregivers, and other healthcare team members within the authorized scope of a physical therapy assistant.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Current license, registration, or certification to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current driver’s license, reliable vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation.
- Ability to function effectively in any home environment regardless of the client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
- Availability to work a scheduled weekend rotation.
- Ability to perform essential physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

The hourly pay rate for this full-time role ranges from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour, with final compensation determined by factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
