UPMC Southwestern PA is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Physician Advisor, Quality Utilization Management in Sewickley, Allegheny County. In this important position, you will provide clinical and management guidance to enhance process improvement and resource management at the hospital level.
Reporting directly to the Regional Medical Director, the Physician Advisor collaborates closely with CCC/DP and UR teams, attending physicians, and hospital leadership to improve medical quality, service, and financial outcomes. This position plays a key role in supporting the organization’s operational and clinical standards through education and committee leadership.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing clinical and management guidance to support effective resource management and process improvement at the hospital level.
- Collaborating with CCC/DP and UR teams, physicians, and hospital leadership to optimize medical quality, service delivery, and financial outcomes.
- Educating hospital staff and medical personnel on utilization management practices and standards.
- Leading utilization management committees to drive ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Supporting care coordination and utilization review activities to ensure appropriate patient status and care settings.
