Physician – Interventional Cardiology

An exciting career opportunity is currently available for a full-time, permanent Interventional Cardiologist to join the esteemed cardiology team at CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico in Alamogordo, NM. This role is designed to expand access to interventional cardiac care, reduce patient transfers for procedures, and provide high-quality medical services as part of a 100-bed, not-for-profit acute care hospital.

Position highlights and clinical expectations include:

• Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Cath lab access with procedures beginning at 6:30 AM and clinic starting at 10:00 AM
• Preferred clinic volume of 20 to 25 patients per day, with an annual cath and angio volume of approximately 500 cases
• Procedures performed include coronary angioplasty and stent placement, right and left heart catheterization, diagnostic coronary angiography, pacemaker and AICD insertions, generator changes, lead revisions, loop recorder insertions and removals, and stress test and echocardiogram readings
• Shared call coverage expected
• EMR systems utilize GEMMS One in the clinic and Cerner and Change Healthcare in the hospital, with a system-wide transition to Epic scheduled for March 2026

Qualifications and requirements:

• Fellowship-trained in Interventional Cardiology
• Must possess an unrestricted New Mexico Medical License or be eligible for licensure in the state
• Previous experience is preferred
