Banner Health, in collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Arizona-Tucson and Banner University Medicine-Tucson, is actively seeking a dedicated Ophthalmologist to join our growing faculty team. Both full-time and per diem opportunities are available for qualified medical professionals interested in advancing patient care, clinical research, and academic excellence in the region.
In this specialized role, the selected individual will focus primarily on the surgical and non-surgical management of corneal and external disease, while also providing comprehensive ophthalmic care. Working within a collaborative academic medical environment, you will have the opportunity to engage with patients, support resident and fellow education, and contribute to the ongoing clinical initiatives of our esteemed department.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Providing expert medical and surgical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with corneal and external eye diseases.
- Performing complex surgical procedures aligned with fellowship training in cornea and external disease.
- Delivering comprehensive ophthalmology care to a diverse patient population.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, clinical staff, and academic peers to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
- Participating in clinical documentation, adherence to institutional standards, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Contributing to academic missions, which may involve teaching, mentoring, and participating in departmental meetings and scholarly activities.
This position is located in the Catalina and Tucson area within Pima County. The annual salary for this role is established at $110,505.
