Optum is seeking a dedicated and qualified Primary Care Physician to join our growing team at Primary Care Plus. As a Primary Care Physician with us, you will enjoy a supportive, team-based clinical environment designed to prioritize patient health over volume. Daily responsibilities include managing patient panels with manageable appointment sizes of 10 to 16 patients per day, utilizing extended appointment windows, and collaborating closely with support staff including APRNs, RNs, and Quality Improvement teams. You will have the autonomy to practice at the top of your license while leveraging robust transitional care and high-risk outreach programs.
Key responsibilities and features of the role include:
- Conducting comprehensive outpatient clinical evaluations and treatment plans for adult, family, or geriatric patients
- Focusing on quality care metrics, diagnostic accuracy, and maintaining optimal hospitalization rates
- Participating in a balanced 4.5-day work week featuring early Friday departures and no overnight call duties
- Leveraging robust administrative and clinical support to ensure coordinated, cost-effective patient care
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Possess an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution
- Hold an active medical license, along with valid DEA and CDS licenses or the ability to obtain them prior to start
- Be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Preferred qualifications include one or more years of clinical experience in adult, family, or geriatric care, and a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
We offer a competitive compensation structure that includes a guaranteed base salary ranging from $226,000 to $366,000, supplemented by a $30,000 sign-on bonus and potential annual performance bonuses based on quality care metrics. Total cash compensation is determined by factors such as market location, education, and experience.
