We now have an opportunity available for a passionate and experienced academic to join the JCU Horizons Program as a Principal Research Fellow in Single cell and spatial biology. Located in Manoora, Cairns, this is a full-time, continuing appointment at Academic Level D.
As part of the new transformative, challenge-led research investment known as the JCU Horizons Program, you will help accelerate our impactful research agenda to address key global and Australian challenges. In this senior academic role, you will lead high-impact research initiatives, mentor emerging researchers, and contribute to the advancement of single cell and spatial biology within our dynamic tropical research environment.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Leading cutting-edge research projects focused on single cell and spatial biology within the JCU Horizons Program.
- Publishing high-quality research outputs in leading peer-reviewed journals and securing external competitive research funding.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, research teams, and industry partners locally and globally.
- Supervising and mentoring postgraduate students and early-career researchers to foster academic excellence.
- Contributing to the broader academic community and strategic goals of the university through leadership, service, and engagement.
