About this job
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. We are seeking a Production Coordinator for our Materials Labs to serve as a critical liaison between our internal lab team and the various programs we support across the company.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that materials and test articles flow smoothly through the lab to meet stringent deadlines and quality standards. Your day-to-day work will directly support our mission by keeping production moving efficiently and maintaining high standards of data and material integrity.
Key responsibilities for the Production Coordinator include:
- Monitor, track, and move parts as required through the company to ensure timely delivery to the next production location.
- Ensure parts are handled, packaged, and protected properly within SpaceX specifications.
- Ensure scan and location accuracy is maintained within the shop and SpaceX’s ERP system.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure on-time delivery of piece parts and outside services as required.
- Work with planning, procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure ERP data remains clean and accurate.
- Assist with the resolution of incorrect system data that could drive inappropriate demand, schedules, or general failure.
- Develop and maintain reports to highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints for internal and customer use.
- Support the logistics process through innovative staging of workflow and manage material certifications to prevent the use of uncertified materials.
- Interface and coordinate with outsource vendors for any external material testing.
Basic qualifications for applicants:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 1+ years of experience supporting administrative processes.
- Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed, with nominal hours on 1st shift (5:00 AM – 2:30 PM).
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted and stand for extended periods of at least 8 hours.
- Meet U.S. Government export regulation requirements under ITAR.
Preferred skills and experience include three or more years of experience handling parts in a manufacturing setting, inventory management experience, strong computer skills with the MS Office Suite, and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems. A bachelor’s degree, experience in organizing files and documents, background in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments, SQL and Tableau experience, and an APICS certification are also highly valued.
Compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis across levels, with base pay ranges spanning from $22.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on qualifications, education, and experience. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may receive comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, paid vacation, paid holidays, long-term incentives or stock options, and employee stock purchase options.
