Downer Group is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Project Engineer – Mechanical to join our team based in the Mango Hill and Pine Rivers Area. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering essential capital water infrastructure projects, including network renewals, water main replacements, valves, hydrants, and water pump stations across the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast region.
As a key member of our project team, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing the mechanical aspects of various water and wastewater projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to drive project success and ensure seamless operational phases.
Key responsibilities in this position include:
- Delivering mechanical scopes for capital water infrastructure and network renewal projects.
- Collaborating closely with internal design, scheduling, and cost control teams to monitor project progress and budgets.
- Working alongside commissioning and maintenance teams to ensure smooth handovers and operational transitions.
- Assisting with general engineering coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication across regional project sites.
- Upholding high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance on all assigned works.
To thrive in this role, you should possess a relevant engineering background and a strong understanding of mechanical systems within the water or utilities sector. Your ability to communicate effectively, solve technical problems, and coordinate between different functional teams will be essential for delivering successful outcomes on our regional programs.
