Skilled Nursing is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Registered Midwife for a rewarding temporary placement in the Maternity and Obstetrics department of a Western Victorian hospital. Located in the Essendon North area within the City of Moonee Valley, this contract runs for a set period from 20/06/2026 to 16/08/2026, offering a great opportunity to support a regional healthcare team during peak service periods.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centred care to expectant mothers and newborns throughout their maternity journey. Standard duties expected for this position typically include monitoring maternal and fetal wellbeing during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal stages, providing clinical assessments, offering breastfeeding and parenting education, and collaborating closely with obstetricians and the broader multidisciplinary nursing team to ensure safe, high-quality clinical outcomes.
To support you during your assignment, this role includes agency rates, provided accommodation, and a travel allowance to help facilitate a smooth transition to the location. You will work within a supportive hospital environment dedicated to maternal and infant health.
Suitable candidates must hold current professional registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with AHPRA, along with relevant clinical experience in maternity and obstetrics care. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to adapt quickly to a hospital care setting are essential for success in this position.
