Ascension is currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for an Oncology position at our Via Christi, St. Francis facility located in Wichita, Sedgwick County. As an Oncology Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing compassionate, patient-centered clinical care to cancer patients. Your duties will typically involve assessing patient needs, administering prescribed treatments, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest standards of safety and clinical excellence. You will also provide vital education and emotional support to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
The annual salary for this position is $67,847. In addition to a supportive work environment, eligible Ascension associates benefit from tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through our academic partnership with Wichita State University.
Key responsibilities and qualifications for this role include:
- Providing specialized nursing care to oncology patients in a hospital or clinical setting
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with established clinical protocols and safety standards
- Monitoring patient vitals and health status, documenting clinical notes accurately, and reporting changes to physicians
- Educating patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment plans, and self-care management
- Collaborating effectively with doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Maintaining current nursing licensure and relevant clinical competencies required for oncology care
