As a Nephrology Registered Nurse at our facility, you will play a critical role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing kidney transplants and managing various nephrological conditions. While specific daily duties depend on unit needs, typical responsibilities for this role include the following:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in the specialized area of transplant nephrology.
- Monitoring patients closely before, during, and after medical procedures and treatments.
- Administering medications, managing IV lines, and documenting patient progress accurately in electronic medical records.
- Educating patients and their families regarding post-transplant care, medication adherence, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including nephrologists, surgeons, pharmacists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated patient outcomes.
