UCHealth is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for an Acute Care Medical position located in the Lakewood and Denver area, specifically supporting the Medical Acute Care Unit at the inpatient facilities. This is an onsite role that does not offer remote or hybrid work options, requiring practitioners to be present in the clinical setting to deliver direct patient care.
This is a PRN position operating on a flexible schedule with day and night shift rotations. The compensation for this role is listed at an annual equivalent of $53,594, with actual hourly pay determined by the applicant’s relevant nursing experience in accordance with UCHealth guidelines.
As a Registered Nurse in the acute care setting, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, compassionate, and professional nursing care to patients with various medical conditions. Your daily duties will typically include:
- Assessing patient health problems and conditions, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Administering medications and treatments prescribed by attending physicians while monitoring patients for side effects and reactions.
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and effective patient treatment.
- Educating patients and their families on disease management, post-discharge care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Responding promptly to medical emergencies and acute changes in patient status within the medical unit.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the minimum educational requirement of being a graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered or Professional Nursing program.
