As a Roadside Technician with the RAC, your primary focus will be delivering exceptional roadside assistance to motorists in need. You will diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle faults at the roadside, ensuring our members get back on their journey safely and efficiently. Working from home, your shift pattern allows you to start and finish directly from your own driveway, offering great convenience and flexibility.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a relevant Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) alongside practical, hands-on mechanical experience. We are looking for professional, customer-focused individuals who can problem-solve under pressure and communicate effectively with stranded motorists.
Key responsibilities in this role typically include:
- Attending vehicle breakdown locations promptly and safely
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment
- Performing roadside repairs where possible to get vehicles moving again
- Arranging onward travel or vehicle recovery when roadside repair is not feasible
- Maintaining accurate records of jobs completed and parts used
