Join the RAC as a Roadside Vehicle Technician based in Abbotskerswell, Newton Abbot, and be part of the dedicated team that keeps the UK moving. In this full-time role, you will be the face of our roadside assistance, providing expert mechanical diagnostics and repairs directly to motorists in need.
As a key member of our field operations, your day-to-day responsibilities will typically involve:
- Responding to roadside breakdowns in a timely and professional manner.
- Diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults on a wide range of light vehicles.
- Performing roadside repairs efficiently to get customers safely back on the move, or arranging onward travel when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and parts used.
- Delivering exceptional customer service during what can often be a stressful situation for the motorist.
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should possess a relevant Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) alongside practical hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
This position offers a fantastic work-life setup allowing you to start and finish directly from your own driveway. You will work demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available to boost your earnings. The financial package includes a highly competitive salary structure reaching up to £60,000 per year, supported by performance-related bonuses and enhanced rates for overtime.
