Outcomes First Group is seeking a dedicated School Cook to join the team at Bradford Beacon School, located on Rooley Lane in West Bowling, Bradford (BD5 8LJ). This is a permanent, term-time-only position working 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The salary is £20,000 per annum (not pro-rata). Please note that this opportunity is open to UK applicants only, and sponsorship is not available.
As our School Cook, you will take charge of the day-to-day running of the school kitchen. Your primary focus will be to ensure that pupils receive healthy, nutritious, and appealing meals every day, prepared in a safe and efficient environment. We work smarter so that you can enjoy the things that matter most to you outside of work.
Key responsibilities in this role typically include:
- Preparing, cooking, and serving wholesome meals for students and staff in accordance with nutritional standards and school policies.
- Managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking schedules, and menu execution.
- Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene, health and safety, and food safety compliance at all times.
- Managing food stock levels, receiving deliveries, and handling basic inventory tasks.
- Adapting meals to cater to various dietary requirements and allergies among pupils.
We are looking for a reliable and organized individual with a passion for cooking and a commitment to providing quality food for young people. Experience working in a professional kitchen, school catering environment, or similar setting is highly desirable. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of food hygiene regulations and the ability to work effectively on their own as well as part of a wider school team.
