SB Recruitment is currently managing a recruitment process for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join a highly regarded local council within the New South Wales Government. Located in The Rocks, Sydney, this full-time contract position runs through to 30 November 2026 and offers an immediate start alongside flexible hybrid working arrangements.
In this vital role, you will provide high-level financial analysis and strategic support to senior executives, helping to drive positive outcomes for the local community as the council delivers a number of significant projects and strategic initiatives. You will work within a collaborative team environment where your financial expertise will directly inform key decision-making processes.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Providing comprehensive financial analysis, modeling, and reporting to senior executives and stakeholders
- Assisting with budget development, forecasting, and financial monitoring for key projects and strategic initiatives
- Evaluating financial performance, identifying trends, and offering actionable insights to improve operational efficiency
- Preparing detailed briefing notes, board papers, and financial reports in line with government standards
- Collaborating across departments to ensure financial accountability and adherence to organizational objectives
To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial analysis, ideally gained within the public sector or local government environments.
