Based at our Nunawading office in the Melbourne metropolitan area, this senior-level role places you at the heart of an organisation where community and our people are central to everything we do.

In this position, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for our workforce. As we continually adapt to meet the evolving needs and changes of our community, your expertise will help support our internal operations effectively. This role offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $122,000 per annum, plus an attractive 12% superannuation contribution.

Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:

  • Reconciling payroll data, preparing periodic reports, and managing payroll-related tax obligations.
  • Investigating and resolving complex payroll queries and discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and collaborating with human resources and finance teams.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems, and internal controls.

To be successful in this senior position, you should demonstrate a strong background in end-to-end payroll administration, ideally within a complex or public sector environment. You will possess high attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and a solid understanding of modern payroll software and relevant legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will regularly liaise with staff across all levels of the council.

If you are looking for a rewarding 12-month opportunity with a community-focused organisation in Melbourne, we invite you to apply and become an integral part of the Whitehorse City Council team.
