We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer (SSSE) to support the development, integration, test, and verification of a variety of new and modified systems for a missionized Gulfstream G550 platform. In this role, you will work on large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction, both on and off-site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing aircraft system requirements, including Concept of Operations (ConOps), system specifications, component specifications, and system schematics.
- Performing verification and validation tasks such as creating test plans and procedures, conducting ground and flight testing, and writing certification reports.
- Supporting technical publications by providing source data and reviewing manuals, instructions for continued airworthiness, and maintenance guides.
- Engaging in hands-on testing and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems, which may require climbing and crawling in confined areas.
- Interpreting aircraft technical documentation, engineering blueprints, standards, and technical specifications.
- Communicating with internal leadership, external subcontractors, and customer teams to explain and influence changes to practices and processes.
- Creating bids, writing proposals, and supporting the aircraft certification process for civil and military frameworks.
- Supporting periodic travel for Technical Interchange Meetings, Program Reviews, testing, and aircraft field support.
Qualifications and requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience in program planning, engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget, and understanding engineering processes and policies.
- Direct experience in aircraft integration, test, and delivery.
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship, with the ability to attain a Top Secret (SCI) Clearance.
- Working knowledge of flight deck missionization, Emissions Control (EMCON), and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10% based on business demands.
