We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer (SSSE) to support the development, integration, test, and verification of a variety of new and modified systems for a missionized Gulfstream G550 platform. In this role, you will work independently with minimal oversight on large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization, handling assignments both on and off-site.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Developing aircraft system requirements, including Concept of Operations (ConOps), system and component specifications, and schematics.
- Performing verification and validation by creating test plans and procedures, conducting ground and flight testing, and writing certification reports.
- Supporting civil and military certification efforts, technical publications, liaison troubleshooting, and sustainment.
- Communicating and collaborating with internal leadership, external subcontractors, and customer teams to influence technical approaches and processes.
- Performing hands-on testing and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems, which may require climbing and crawling in confined areas.
- Supporting periodic travel for Technical Interchange Meetings, Program Reviews, Testing, and Aircraft Field Support.
Basic qualifications and requirements for this position:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget, as well as Aircraft Integration, Test, and Delivery.
- Working knowledge of flight deck missionization, Emissions Control (EMCON), Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), and encrypted communications.
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship, with the ability to attain a Top Secret (SCI) Clearance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as needed based on business demands, up to approximately 10%.
Preferred additional skills that will help you succeed in this role include familiarity with requirements management tools like DOORS or JAMA, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, TeamCenter or other Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) systems, and direct experience with FAA (STC) and Military (MTC) certification activities.
