We are seeking a Software Engineer, PCBA (Starlink) to join our team in Redmond, WA.
As a Software Engineer on the PCBA design and manufacturing team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining software that interfaces with manufacturing equipment on our production line. Your core objective will be making our PCBA manufacturing process faster and more reliable. This is a high-autonomy role requiring close collaboration with manufacturing staff to understand operational challenges and develop effective software solutions that interface with APIs and hardware.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX production and engineering.
- Create new applications that improve overall operational efficiency.
- Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Conduct deep dives into user problems to find and implement efficient solutions.
- Integrate electronics design software with manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain ownership throughout and following the release process for applications.
Basic qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or another STEM discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in full-stack software development, which may include internship and/or project experience.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Must be based in Redmond, WA, for this full-time, onsite position.
- Must meet U.S. Government export regulation (ITAR) requirements.
Preferred skills and experience include object-oriented programming languages such as C#.NET, Python, Go, or Java; familiarity with version control, CI/CD concepts, and UNIX-like operating systems; and experience working with modern build systems, containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
Compensation for this role is determined by level. Level 1 ranges from $125,000.00 to $150,000.00, and Level 2 ranges from $145,000.00 to $175,000.00. Actual placement depends on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
