Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Developing individualized, patient-centered treatment plans tailored to specific rehabilitation goals.
- Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and family members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educating patients and their families on strategies, exercises, and techniques to support continued progress outside of formal therapy sessions.
- Maintaining accurate, timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and clinical progress in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
