In this clinical role, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients who experience speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Your daily responsibilities typically involve:
- Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique rehabilitation goals.
- Providing direct speech-language pathology interventions and therapies to patients recovering from strokes, neurological conditions, and other debilitating illnesses or injuries.
- Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Educating patients, families, and caregivers on strategies, exercises, and techniques to support ongoing communication and swallowing health outside of formal therapy sessions.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
