Explore opportunities with Community Home Health, a part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, where we are dedicated to helping people feel their best. We are currently seeking a Speech Therapist PRN to join our team in delivering compassionate, patient-centered post-acute care.
In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to treating speech and language disorders, as well as providing functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. You will work closely with patients to determine and execute an effective treatment plan aimed at enhancing overall well-being and evaluating ongoing progress.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing professional services within your established scope of practice, in accordance with the plan of care and in coordination with the broader healthcare team.
- Evaluating patient function levels utilizing diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests to assist physicians in developing comprehensive therapy plans of care.
- Treating patients to help them communicate effectively and express thoughts safely and clearly, adhering to acceptable standards of practice.
- Observing, recording, and reporting patient responses and any condition changes directly to the supervising nurse and/or physician.
- Instructing patients, families, caregivers, and other team members on supportive speech therapy practices and participation strategies.
Required qualifications for this position consist of:
- Current licensure in Speech Therapy within the state of residence.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license, active vehicle insurance, and reliable access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
Compensation for this role is determined by multiple factors including local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. Full-time equivalent salary positioning ranges from $71,200 to $127,200 annually, alongside eligibility for our comprehensive benefits offerings, incentive programs, and retirement contributions, subject to standard program guidelines.
