We are seeking a Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will develop and maintain compliance with regulations established by agencies such as OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NIOSH, RCRA, and DOT. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments, monitoring employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards, implementing machine guarding, and investigating industrial accidents or occupational diseases to determine root causes and preventive measures.
You will also inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to correct potential hazards, maintain documented safety observations, and oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management. Additionally, you will review and interpret new environmental laws, conduct environmental compliance and due diligence audits, and manage discharge permits and local AQMD requirements.
Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and operational oversight of environmental, health, and safety disciplines. Preferred skills include an engineering degree with an emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering, strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, and experience with emergency response communication and industrial hygiene programs.
Please note that this is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area. The position may also occasionally require extended hours and weekends.
The pay range for the Environmental Health & Safety Engineer/Senior role is $125,000.00 to $175,000.00 per year. Actual salary is determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
