Sr. Injury Adjuster-UM

As a dedicated Sr. Injury Adjuster-UM, you will be responsible for adjusting attorney-involved, moderately complex UM/UIM claims. This includes confirming coverage, determining liability, investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and adjudicating claims in compliance with state laws and regulations. You will be responsible for delivering a concierge level of best-in-class member service through setting appropriate expectations, proactive communications, advice, and empathy. This hybrid role requires an individual to be in the office three days per week and can be based in San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Chesapeake, VA, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you’ll do:

• Adjust attorney-involved soft tissue and moderately complex claims with injuries, such as torn meniscus, broken bones, and disc herniations, as well as UM/UIM claims and associated auto physical damage.
• Identify, confirm, and make coverage decisions on soft tissue and moderately complex bodily injury claims.
• Investigate loss details, determine legal liability, and evaluate, negotiate, and adjudicate claims appropriately and timely within authority guidelines.
• Prioritize and manage assigned claims workloads to keep members and other involved parties informed with timely status updates.
• Collaborate and support team members to resolve issues, partner with vendors and internal business partners, and support workload surges and catastrophe response operations as needed.
• Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies.

What you have:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
• Two years of auto claims adjusting experience and one year of injury adjusting experience with attorney-represented claims.
• Proficient knowledge of auto claims contracts, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, accurate adjudication, case law, and state regulations.
• Proficient negotiation, investigation, communication, conflict resolution, time-management, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, coverage evaluation, loss assessment, and loss reserving.
• Ability to acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and three attempts.

• Four or more years of auto liability or casualty adjusting experience.
• One year or more of experience in uninsured motorist claims.
• Ongoing professional development with a focus on insurance or a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• US military experience through military service or as a military spouse or domestic partner.

Additional details:

• The salary range for this position is $63,590 to $121,530, determined by experience, market data, and location. Employees may also be eligible for performance-based pay incentives.
