Austal Ships is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Supplier Assurance Officer to join the team on a part-time basis in the Rockingham area. In this engaging role, you will support the delivery of high-quality, compliant supply chain outcomes across Austal Defence Australia (ADA).
You will play a key part in ensuring the performance, quality, and compliance of suppliers supporting major defence programs. By contributing to supplier assurance activities, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives, you will help strengthen overall supply chain reliability and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities in this role typically include:
- Assisting with supplier assurance activities, assessments, and evaluations to ensure compliance with project and quality standards.
- Supporting audit readiness processes and participating in supplier audits as required.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to address performance gaps and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to supplier quality and assurance outcomes.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to support seamless supply chain operations and risk mitigation.
To be successful in this position, you should possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to working with both internal teams and external vendors. A background in supply chain, quality assurance, procurement, or a related field within a regulated industry such as defence or manufacturing will be highly regarded.
