We are currently seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join the Wise Group team on a full-time basis in Nelson, South Island. In this rewarding role, you will care for our tāngata whai ora to ensure they have what they need in our local mental health service, operating within a peaceful crisis respite setting located in The Wood.
As part of our compassionate team, you will provide essential care and assistance using trauma-informed and alcohol and other drug (AOD) recovery approaches. Your daily efforts will directly contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for everyone who utilizes our services.
To be successful in this position, you will bring your relevant New Zealand Level 4 Health and Wellbeing certificate to our service. Your background will enable you to connect meaningfully with our clients and deliver high standards of care aligned with our organizational values.
Key responsibilities in this role typically include:
- Providing compassionate, direct support to tāngata whai ora within a residential crisis respite environment.
- Applying trauma-informed and AOD recovery principles to daily interactions and care planning.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and secure environment that promotes wellbeing and recovery.
- Collaborating effectively with the wider support team to meet individual client needs.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating pertinent information regarding client care.
