Caladenia Dementia Care is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation supporting people living with dementia through meaningful activities, connection, and high-quality care. We are currently seeking a dedicated Support Worker (Activity Assistant) to join our friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis in the Chum Creek and Yarra Ranges area.
In this rewarding role, you will help create a welcoming and engaging environment for our participants. Your primary focus will be on assisting with group activities, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring that every individual feels valued and supported throughout their day. This opportunity is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with dementia.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Assisting with the planning, setup, and delivery of engaging group and individual activities tailored to participants’ interests and abilities
- Providing compassionate, person-centred care and support to participants throughout the day
- Building positive, respectful relationships with participants, their families, and fellow team members
- Encouraging social connection and active participation in a safe and supportive environment
- Collaborating with the wider care team to ensure participant well-being and a high standard of service
